
You can see Jacob's continuing this use of the photo to show statistics in this photo. This is a photo of 426,000 cell phones. That is the number of cellphones retired in the U.S every day. If we think about the number 426,000 it seems large but not as big as it seems when you see it in a picture. In Jacobs picture, these cellphones appear almost microscopic. This shows how small the individual has to be in order to fit into rationally sized space. It also allows you to try and predict the amount of space all these unused cellphones would take up if they were normal sized. We all have seen or heard the statistics that Jacob's represents in his photography. But after seeing his visual representation of them, you can easily find the importance of these statistics.
